STEPHEN MINISTRY
Requesting Care: What to Expect
CARRY EACH OTHER'S BURDENS, AND IN THIS WAY YOU WILL FULFILL THE LAW OF CHRIST.
GALATIANS 6:2
Requesting Care: What to Expect
If you or someone you know is going through a difficult season, you don’t have to carry that burden alone. Requesting a Stephen Minister is a courageous first step toward healing, and we are here to walk beside you.
How the Process Works
We want you to feel completely comfortable reaching out. Here is exactly what happens when you request care:
Step 1: Connect with Us
Fill out the inquiry form, contact our Referrals Coordinator directly at Stephen.Ministry@redeemer.us, or complete a Care Request Card located on the Connection’s desk and on the table outside the Chapel between Pastor Trent and Pastor John’s office. After you complete the card, put it in the confidential locked drop box. To ensure complete privacy, only Pastor John and Teresa Brown, Referrals Coordinator, have keys to these boxes.
Step 2: The Initial Conversation
Our Referrals Coordinator will reach out to you for a brief, private conversation. They will listen to your story, answer any questions you have, and help determine if Stephen Ministry is the right fit for your current needs.
Step 3: Finding Your Match
If you decide to move forward, our Referrals Coordinator will thoughtfully and prayerfully match you with a trained Stephen Minister. To ensure your comfort, men are always matched with men, and women are always matched with women.
Step 4: Regular, Steady Support
Your Stephen Minister will meet with you one-to-one for about an hour each week. They will listen, pray, and offer emotional and spiritual support for as long as you need it. If you would like general information about Stephen Ministry, you can contact any member of the Stephen Ministry Leadership Team.
Our Commitment to Confidentiality
Trust is the foundation of Stephen Ministry. Everything you share with your Stephen Minister, and the Leadership Team, is kept in the absolute strictest confidence. Your name and your circumstances will never be shared with the congregation, or even your own family without your explicit permission. You are in a safe place.
