Here is a sketch of the basic components of the Confirmation Ministry here at Redeemer. Our youth of all ages, including 8th and 9th grades, meet on Sunday morning for study of God’s Word (often called Sunday school). Our youth in 8th and 9th grades also meet each Wednesday night during the school year to study God’s Word as it relates to a variety of life topics in both a large and small group setting. Parents work weekly with their youth in what is called Confirmation Homework; namely, reading an assigned Bible passage and sharing the meaning of God’s word at home. Parents also meet once a month on Wednesday nights with their youth under the leadership of Pastor Ray and a team of adult leaders who make up Redeemer’s Confirmation ministry team.
Besides these “study” parts of Confirmation ministry, there are also “youth events”, including a wee-end retreat planned by Redeemer’s youth team. And finally, our youth in Confirmation are encouraged to serve the poor, one great opportunity for such serving is called Work Camp and another is a mission trip to
